SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. RE-1, VALLEY is Hiring a Special Education Paraeducator Near Iliff, CO
SPED Paraeducator 4-day work week.
Wage: minimum $14.40, salary dependent on experienceJob Goal: To provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students may take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials. Essential Functions/Performance Responsibilities:
- Under supervision of a licensed teacher, prepare for and assist with classroom activities.
- Work with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
- Assist individual children in need of special attention; may include
- assist with wash-up and toilet routines, may include diapering
- assisting student in boarding/unboarding school bus
- accompanying student from classroom to meet parent/guardian
- assist with lunch, snack and clean up routines
- help with clothing
- Perform clerical duties such as copying materials.
- Assist with and care for student assistive devices and technology equipment.
- Assist the teacher with non-instructional classroom duties, such as assisting students with snack, toilet and clothing routines and other classroom preparation such as classroom displays and bulletin boards.
- Assist the teacher in duties relating to the supervision of the playground.
- Participate in in-service training programs.
- Must meet one of the following highly qualified requirements:
- Hold an Associates or higher degree, or
- Have a minimum of 48.00 hours college credit, or successfully pass the Work Keys test (through the Workforce Center) for Reading Information, Mathematics and Business Writing.
- Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
