Job Title: Instructional Systems Data Analyst

Reports to (Title): Designated administrator

Terms Terms of Employment: 240 days per year / 8 hours per day

Pay Grade: 27

FLSA Status: Exempt

General Summary: Under routine supervision, develops, troubleshoots, and administers the District’s data quality systems and tools for the support and use of information by school and district staff. Creates systems to provide access to district data to assist staff in the instructional process. Ensures data accuracy, enables informed decision-making, and supports system integration. Transforms raw data into accessible reports and dashboards, troubleshoots data-related issues, and provides technical expertise in data collection processes. Supervises and leads a research team to create online reports that detail current and longitudinal student achievement data and provides processed student data in usable form. Monitors, retrieves and analyzes data from the District’s student information system (SIS) for various reports; creates and maintains files for regular or special reports; acts as a technical resource and assists in the development of efficient data collection and analysis for program evaluation.

Essential Functions:

● Develops, documents, supports and produces standard and customized reports from various databases for school and district staff using available tools such as Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and Microsoft Excel.

● Enhances report distribution methods in a format that is useful and easily accessible to school and district staff.

● Coordinates data collection, analysis and reporting.

● Develops data quality standards and methodologies; cleans, integrates and manages data files; monitors data quality.

● Maintains, supports, and enhances the data warehouse.

● Provides staff development/training in using the District’s data systems and interpretation of reports.

● Assists in the analysis of data and the interpretation of results.

● Retrieves, processes, reviews, monitors and analyzes data from diverse sources.

● Ensures data accuracy for state and federal reporting, accountability, and system integration.

● Transforms data into reports and dashboards that are actionable for school and district administrators.

● Troubleshoots issues related to system integration, data, updates, rostering, and access issues.

● Writes and updates SQL code for data processing and transmission to vendors. Develops, maintains, and updates custom SQL reports in designated systems.

● Prepares and formats data for administration and public access.

● Ensures correct set-up of the student information system.

● Responds to data requests from schools/departments, ranging from simple queries to complex projects.

● Establishes, reviews, sets permissions and licenses and troubleshoots user access of designated systems.

Minimum Education/Work Experience:

● Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business or related field.

● Four (4) years of experience in management experience/training or a related field.

● Four (4) years of experience in computer software for data analysis and reporting.

● Experience writing complex SQL databases queries, stored procedures, and scripts. |

● Experience managing complex data sets.

● Strong communication and organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,755.00 - $100,934.00 per year
