POSITIONS: Head Coach Co-Ed Unified Track and Field

SCHOOL: East Chicago Central High School

SALARY: In accordance with current salary schedules and Extra Curricular

BEGINNING: Upon approval of Board of School Trustees

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Successful Head Coaches should display strong communication, motivational and organizational skills. Team-building abilities and working in a collaborative environment are essential for a Head Coach.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of Indiana High School Athletic Association by Laws
• Previous high school experience as a player/coach
• Previous experience working with student of special needs
• Successful Safe Visitor Expanded Background Check
• Hold a valid CPR/First Aid Certificate (Desirable)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Record of developing and maintain a quality program
• Experience coaching/teaching to high school students preferred
• Experience in an Urban School Environment
• Function and contribute to total Athletic and Academic Programs
• Have knowledge of fundraising activities
• Valid teacher/administrative license (preferred)

Please note this post does not include a teaching appointment unless otherwise noted. Sports Coaches are employed directly by the School City of East Chicago for a one-year renewable term.

EVALUATION: Performance on job requirements will be evaluated annually by the Athletic Director in accordance with Board Policy.
