School Administrative Unit No. 29 is Hiring a Strings/General Music Teacher- Full-Time at Keene Middle School 2024-2025 School Year Near Keene, NH

Strings/General Music Teacher- Full-time at Keene Middle School for the 2024-2025 School Year The position of Strings and General Music teacher at Keene Middle School includes grades 6-8 String Orchestra and grades 6-8 General Music, as well as small-group string instrument sectional lessons. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits, including top notch health and dental, student loan repayment program, professional development, course reimbursement to further your career and enrollment in the New Hampshire retirement system!

Qualified Candidates of the Strings/General Music teacher position will:

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of string instrument pedagogy by selecting a variety of styles and genres of appropriate repertoire for middle school level string orchestras. 
  • Plan effective rehearsals that lead to quality performances outside the classroom, including evening concerts and occasional weekend festivals. Communicate effectively with students and families about student progress, schedules, and upcoming events. 
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the KMS music team. 
  • Participate in vertical planning with the elementary/high school strings teacher to ensure seamless transitions through grades 3-12. 
  • Maintain and continue to develop an inventory of music supplies, literature, and instrumental equipment by keeping updated inventory records, and ensuring equipment is in good working order. 
  • Collaborate with other members of the music department to deliver a cohesive general music curriculum to students in grades 6-8, taking advantage of resources available including computer lab, MIDI keyboards, ukuleles, bucket drums, etc. 

Must hold or be eligible for appropriate New Hampshire teacher certification with endorsement 1200 and preferably experience with band.
