This position works under the direction of the building principal and is responsible for assisting classroom teachers in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of at-risk students with behavioral challenges. The purpose of working with at-risk populations is to reduce the size of this population as well as to provide focused intervention prior to referring for special education. This position is also responsible for creating and administering intensive behavior intervention programs, collecting student data, and monitoring student progress.
This is a full-time position, with excellent benefits, including enrollment in the New Hampshire Retirement System.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: Previous relevant school-based experience working with children is required with elementary experience preferred. Must be able to demonstrate relevant experience with behavior management and behavior de-escalation strategies. Crisis intervention training is required upon hiring.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in job-related area or an equivalent combination of work experience and education that satisfies requirements.
Certification: Hold or be eligible for a NH teacher certification as an elementary school teacher, special education teacher, school counselor or social worker.
