A paraprofessional employee is one who assists with the teaching-learning process under the supervision of a certified teacher or other professional or other adult duties helpful to teachers Position Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist certified professional staff in supporting students in the classroom as well as such duties as recess supervision and supporting students in unified arts classes. This is a school year position, 6.75 hours per day/ 33.75 hours per week. These duties include:
Preparation of materials.
Supervision of children in the classroom, in school activities, at recess, during bus arrival and dismissal, and at other times when asked.
Primary concern during supervision is to keep children:
safe physically and emotionally;
following rules;
developing problem solving skills;
communicating with adults regarding their interactions while at school.
Communication with teachers and other professionals regarding duties.
Participation in staff development activities within the school day.
Evaluation of performance will include:

Able to plan and implement small group instruction
Student planners/notebooks completed in professional manner & consistently charts progress

Qualifications Profile Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
High School diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
Prior experience working with children.
