Scholt Industries, Inc. is Hiring a Commercial Construction Superintendent Near Huntsville, AL

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage all aspects of construction projects in various sectors including Multi-Family, Hotel, Strip Center, Residential Home Building, and Civil projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership abilities, and a keen eye for detail to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all phases of construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues or delays, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Supervise and manage on-site construction teams, including subcontractors, laborers, and other personnel, to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
  • Enforce compliance with all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and other technical documents to ensure accurate implementation of design plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate and schedule inspections with relevant authorities and agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals as required.
  • Manage project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, change orders, and RFIs (Requests for Information), to maintain accurate records of project activities and communications.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and assist in the procurement of materials and equipment to optimize project efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders, addressing any concerns or inquiries and providing regular project updates as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role in commercial construction projects, with a focus on Multi-Family, Hotel, Strip Center, Residential Home Building, and Civil projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and materials, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in construction management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • OSHA certification and familiarity with safety regulations and protocols in the construction industry.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in managing commercial construction projects in the specified sectors (Multi-Family, Hotel, Strip Center, Residential Home Building, and Civil).
  • Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
  • Experience working with subcontractors and vendors in a commercial construction environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
