Schneider Electric is looking for Security Automation Engineer for their Chicago Area Team (Westmont, IL). This person should have experience in Security programming for Digital Buildings.

What will you do?

• Access Control: field controller initialization, reader configuration, access permissions, schedules, software configuration, and programming and graphical floorplan creation.
• Digital Video: IP cameras; configure recording parameters; create maps.
• IT Systems: support and maintenance (software/firmware upgrades, backups) for automation systems and related infrastructure (servers, computers, network switches)
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve IT related hardware and software issues.
• Assist sales on technical architecture, applications, hardware, and components.
• Work closely with clients to identify opportunities for improvements and upgrades of systems.

What qualifications will make you successful? 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or another technical field – or work equivalent related work experience.
• Understanding of access control technology and methodologies, computer and network hardware and software support practices
• Security access controls and Digital Video platforms (Genetec, ICT, Feenics, Milestone, Axis)
• Familiar with TCP/IP networks and network troubleshooting methodology.
