Help students master equipment/instructional materials assigned by the teacher
Assist in the preparation of instructional materials
Copying, typing, filing, cutting, laminating, bulletin board preparation, etc.
Provide classroom management functions
Assist with playground/recess, time-out, lunch and bus duties as requested
Assist with supervision of students during emergency / fire drills, assemblies and field trips
Provide escort and assistance to students as necessary
Supervise small groups of students in community based programs
Work cooperatively and positively with coworkers and supervisors
Participate in in-service training programs as assigned
Perform Personal Care duties (i.e. feeding, lifting, toileting, etc) as required
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising special education teacher, principal, or Director of Special Services.
Qualifications: Must hold Education Technician II or III Certification from Maine Department of Education and CHRC fingerprinting. Maine State Law requires ALL school employees to be fingerprinted and pass a Criminal History Record Check (CHRC). A copy of your CHRC MUST be uploaded as part of your application to be considered.
