Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
Performs Computed Tomography procedures to produce imaging using CT technology to assist physicians with formulating a medical
diagnosis, while complying with safety and regulatory requirements. Specifically conduct Computerized Tomography exams and
document clinically appropriate results for interpretative physician and records.
1. Reviews Medical Imaging request for proper examination and clinical information.
2. Assures that patients are properly assessed before the patient is taken into the CT room.
3. Performs CT scans using proper protocols established by the radiologist.
4. Follows emergency procedures when indicated.
5. Assures images are properly processed and sent to the radiologist for interpretation. *a) After each patient is scanned, images should be ready to read.
6. Maintains current and competent through continuing education seminars, membership in professional organizations, and review of current literature and memos.
7. Assure that the equipment is clean and in good working condition, and reports all equipment problems.
8. Attends hospital in-services and meetings
9. Capable of injecting contrast for CT exams. *a) Technologist scanning is responsible for injection contrast.
10. Is familiar with disaster, fire, and other policies which are important in the day-to-day operation of his/her department.
11. Monitors patients’ conditions during the procedure. *a) Ability to communicate with each patient during scan
12. Adheres to and supports the established policies of the hospital.
13. Assists in other areas of the Imaging Department and surgery as radiology technologist, when needed.
14. Attends continuing education programs specific to providing care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric population, as applicable to area of practice.
15. Assists with clerical duties and transporting patients when needed.
16 Demonstrates sound cost containment techniques.
Qualifications:
Total Education, Vocational Training, and Experience:
  • Graduate of an accredited program or Radiological Technology.
  • CT experience 3-5 years. Advanced certificate (CT) preferred.
  • BCLS
License or Certification:
  • Current registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)
Min: USD $35.00/Hr. Max: USD $45.00/Hr.
