POSITION SUMMARY:

The Host Person position is responsible for meeting, greeting, and seating guests, in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. The Host Person seats guests and manages the flow of reservations to maximize the guest experience and will also be responsible for answering the phone and taking, tracking, and organizing reservations, to-go orders, and special requests.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must exhibit a focused attention to detail, while working in a high-pressure environment.
  • Able to write and speak in a confident manor.
  • Must possess a valid health department card.
  • Greet all guests warmly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to qualify for this position.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment as outlined by the California Health District.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for the experience of guests while dining at the venue, further is the major contact person to the guest and should know all the specific wishes/dietary/allergies which they have and do their best to accommodate to create a cognitive and emotional dining experience
  • Strives to deliver consistent superior service and generate revenue through the acquisition and retention of guests and VIPs.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • plans the dining room seating arrangements.
  • high-level planning and coordination of service in the dining room, bar based on covers/VIPs/events for the evening
  • continuously gives "on-the-job" training to department staff
  • liaison between host team and management for host team concerns
  • is responsible for the appearance of subordinate personnel and communicating in a thoughtful; positive effective manner before escalation to GM
  • handles and controls all chits/updates for (related to their Department)
  • is responsible for ordering and storing all candles/front desk supplies and keeping regular inventories.
  • is responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of his/her Department area
  • is responsible for all administrative work involved
  • monthly check ins and status updates to Corp Head of Guest Experience

PHYSICAL AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift.
  • Must be able observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations.
  • Must be able to twist, tow (push or pull), reach, bend climb, and carry objects as necessary.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to work inside and outside at all times of the year as needed, based upon business volumes.
