Position Overview:

A Low-Voltage Control Installer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low-voltage control systems in various environments, such as commercial buildings, industrial facilities, or residential complexes. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail to ensure the proper functioning of control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation: Install low voltage control systems according to blueprints, specifications, and project requirements. This includes running wires, mounting control panels, connecting devices, and configuring system settings.

2. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the ongoing functionality of control systems. This may involve inspecting equipment, testing components, and replacing or repairing faulty parts as needed.

3. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with low voltage control systems, including electrical failures, communication errors, and programming glitches. Identify root causes of problems and implement effective solutions to resolve them promptly

4. Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of installation activities, maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting procedures. Keep detailed records of equipment specifications, wiring diagrams, and system configurations for reference purposes.

5. Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies throughout the installation and maintenance process. Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with applicable codes and guidelines to minimize safety risks and ensure quality.

6. Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, and other stakeholders to coordinate installation activities, provide status updates, and address any concerns or questions. Deliver exceptional customer service by demonstrating professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to customer needs.

7. Training and Development: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to low voltage control systems. Participate in training programs and professional development activities to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field preferred.

· Previous experience in low voltage control systems installation, maintenance, or related field.

· Strong understanding of electrical principles, wiring techniques, and control system components.

· Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.

· Familiarity with common low voltage control protocols and communication interfaces (e.g., Modbus, BACnet, LON).

· Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues effectively.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

· Attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

· Physical ability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as needed.

· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

· Willingness to comply with safety regulations and follow proper procedures to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:

  • Electric controls: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Low-voltage installation: 2 years (Preferred)
