ACCOUNTING/CORPORATE CONTROLLER 

Job Summary

We are a growing practice with offices in San Francisco, Miami, London, Dallas, and Columbia. As a world-renowned leader in architectural excellence, our diverse needs are quickly growing and we are looking for a Corporate Controller to oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions, systems, and operating policies and procedures for SB Architects and its subsidiaries.. The Corporate Controller has a highly visible role while leading and directing a small team of accountants. This role will be a member of our leadership team and report to the Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities:

· Manage, monitor, and review the month-end accounting close process to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained

· Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits, providing information to external auditors

· Assess the financial infrastructure, identifying priorities to update, improve or optimize processes, systems and controls for increased efficiency and effectiveness

· Conducts all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other applicable laws

· Make all GL journal entries for the businesses

· Manage all insurance, payroll, 401K audits

· Prepare monthly management reports for SB Architects, its subsidiaries and monthly reporting to the parent company 

· Lead monthly finance metrics review with senior management

· Serve as Administrator in Paylocity and Deltek and other related accounting software 

· Coordinate the preparation of the annual tax return with a third-party preparer 

· Provide training, assistance, and leadership to current and/or new staff accountants

· Responsible for maintaining banking relationships and debt covenants

· Responsible for entity set up and compliance when the company operates in new states

· Responsible for backlog and cash forecasting

· Assists in preparing budgets and forecasts

· Monitors and investigates budget variances

· Participate in the development of and support the Company’s strategic plans

· Participate in the integration of SB Architects accounting systems into the those of the parent company

· Partner with CEO and CFO to oversee Company’s IT infrastructure and outsourced Network Managed Services provider

Qualifications:

· Minimum of a Bachelor or Masters Degree in Accounting or Business and at least 10 of experience in architecture or a related practice (with 5 years in a managerial position) 

· Certified Public Accountant optional

· Proven experience directing, managing, and growing a team

· Excellent oral and written communication skills 

· Ability to interpret complex diagrams, reports and invoices and communicate variances, stances to the senior team

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

· Knowledge of GAAP required

· Experience in consolidated financial reporting is desired, including foreign currency

· Past experience with Deltek, and Paylocity preferred
