Sayres is seeking a Proposal Specialist to work on a Business Development team at the company headquarters office located in Washington, DC. Position requires initiative and self-direction while working within a team framework under the guidance, direction and mentorship of senior leaders.

Hybrid Remote based in Washington DC. There may be travel to customer sites and to other Sayres offices for proposal/business development needs.

The position is located in one of the most exciting, growing and developing areas of Washington DC- just outside the Navy Yard almost next to National's Park. The economic development of the area provides for high quality of work/life with many vibrant restaurants and green spaces along the river.

The Proposal Specialist duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Candidate will respond to, and coordinate and lead when Prime, all proposal related actions and activities including: management of BD CRM, management of NDAs and Teaming Agreements, development (writing/reviewing/editing) Technical Volume, Management Plan, Past Performance and Staffing proposal volumes/sections; identify qualified Key and non-Key personnel in the creation of a Staffing Plan

• Interface with Contracts/Pricing, Security, IT, HR corporate staff in support of proposal development
• Participate, and lead when Prime, color review activities
• Develop proposal meeting (i.e. Kickoffs, Reviews) agendas, briefs and resulting action items
• Inform and advise LoB Presidents regarding BD and proposal issues and perform opportunity status reviews
• Develop proposal development POA&Ms from RFP Issue to/through Submittal milestones
• Perform final quality control check, including proofreading for grammar, request for proposal (RFP) compliance and conformance to established strategies and plans.
• Maintain configuration control of all proposal and BD related files.

Candidate Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in writing proposal documents and capable of coordinating and managing the creation of proposal products
• Ideal candidates should possess 5 years of experience in a Business Development role within the DOD industry.
• Ability to collaborate with Project Executives, Project Managers, and relevant consultants and teammates in the proposal preparation and execution process.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks and possess strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge and experience with office procedures, systems, and protocols required.
• Strong and effective communication, writing, and computer skills are essential.
• Must be able to independently manage a challenging workload and budgets when faced with unexpected changes in priorities and deadlines.
• Advanced user in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and Adobe Creative Suite including In Design (Photoshop and Illustrator a plus).
• Experience with DoD/Navy industry solicitation and proposal requirements; preferred understanding of Seaport RFP requirements and processes.
• Experience with UNANET CRM preferred.
• Ability to obtain Secret Clearance if required.
