We are currently looking for a hardworking and motivated individual to join our restaurant team. The Event Cook is responsible for assisting in the kitchen at catered events, including kitchen setup and breakdown, food preparation and plating, and maintenance of kitchen cleanliness. Food production must be prepared consistently and attractively and completed in a timely manner. All work must remain within guidelines for health, sanitation, and safety. The Event Cook prepares food that meets current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations by following established policies and procedures and ensures that safe and high-quality food service is provided at all times. The Event Cook prepares all items needed for service, from chopping vegetables to making sauces and butchering meat, and may be asked to prepare items for another station or special event. This is a part-time on-call position for an upscale catering business. Evenings, holidays, and weekends are a must. We are seeking those who are friendly, hardworking, professional, reliable, and passionate about great food and service
The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and one-year prior experience in a food service setting. Additional culinary training/coursework highly desired. He or she must be committed to the customers, reliable to his or her co-workers, and be a self-motivated, organized, and detailed individual. Effective oral and written skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.
