Salary Range: $15.69 - $16.00 Hourly

Description

Job Title: Food Runner

FLSA Classification: Non-exempt (Hourly)

Salary Range: Prevailing Minimum Wage - $16, per hour

Reports to: Restaurant Management//Supervisors

Summary/objective: The role of a Restaurant Food Runner is totake food from the kitchen and delivery to the correct patrons in the restaurant. The Food Runners job is to alleviate pressure from service staff and ensure excellent and timely customer service is maintained. In addition, the food runner assists in protecting the establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation and safety policies.

Essential functions

  • Greet each guest, enthusiastically and with a smile to create a friendly positive experience.
  • Conforms to AAA Four Diamond Standards.
  • Work with restaurant staff to create a positive dining experience for guests.
  • Assists bussers and service staff in preparing the restaurant for patrons by setting tables and stocking all necessary supplies prior to the beginning of service
  • Assists bussers and service staff with maintaining table settings by removing finished courses and replenishing utensils as necessary
  • Refilling water glasses as necessary
  • Supports service staff and kitchen by retrieving food orders from kitchen and any other requested supplies to patrons in the restaurant in a timely manner.
  • Maintains highest level of sanitation throughout all work areas
  • Alert servers when tables are in need of attention.
  • Assist in clearing tables and remove dishes after the party leaves.
  • Assists in carrying loads of soiled dishes to the dishwasher to be cleaned
  • Ensure availability of clean dishes, flatware, glasses, straws, napkins, and other dining materials.
  • Relay guest issues or suggestions to the manager.
  • Assisting with special events as needed.
  • Understand and can communicate products and services available at the Resort
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
  • Fully aware of and comply with Inns policies and procedures as identified in the procedure manual and handbook.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures

Work environment

  • Working conditions are based in a hospitality setting.
  • May be indoor or outdoor setting depending on outlet.
  • Associates may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
  • Noise level in work environment is usually moderate.

Physical demands

  • To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the food and beverage area and property, including walking up to 1 mile, climbing stairs and standing at workstation for the duration of the shift.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
  • The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Maintains all current licenses and certifications

  • Maintains high standards for work area and appearance and presents self in highly professional manner to staff and guest.
  • Available days, evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.
