The Janitor ensures the Distribution Center buildings are kept in a clean and orderly condition. This position also maintains the cleanliness of the outdoor grounds. The Janitor performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors and equipment, offices and rest rooms, and removing rubbish.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
·Cleans aisles, slots, loading and receiving docks, truck shop
·Empties trash and recycle bins throughout facility
·Cleans offices, break room and restrooms; replenish supplies as needed
·Picks up plastic and cardboard; delivers to recycle area
·Bales cardboard and plastic
·Recoups damaged product from the floor (return to salvage tote)
·Loads, unloads and sorts empty pallets
·Sorts empty totes based on color and Vendor
·Operates yard goat to maneuver trailers from dock to dock, switching out empty trailers with full trailers
·Observes appearance and condition of premises and equipment; reports needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring outside vendor services
·Answers spill calls; cleans area as needed throughout shift
·Completes a daily guideline form and list of slots cleaned
·Performs other duties as assigned
