Save the Children 2022 is Hiring an Assistant, Strategic Foundation Partnerships (S1) Near Fairfield, CT

Summary

The Strategic Foundation Partnerships (SFP) team leads Save the Children’s engagement with US-based foundations, building strategic partnerships with many of the world’s leading foundation donors to accelerate our agency strategy and the impact of our global movement for children.

The Assistant, Strategic Foundation Partnerships provides primary administrative support to the Head of Impact Giving and Foundation Partnerships and SFP senior team members (director-level and above) as well as secondary support to the remainder of the team. This includes budget tracking, support developing presentations, and performing all aspects of business administration, database updates, web projects, and special events/projects. You will work cross-functionally with many areas such as the Program teams, Marketing and Communications, Finance, and Legal. Within SFP, you will also work closely with our research lead on a number of special projects supporting the overall performance and direction of SFP efforts.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Business Administration (65%)

  • Perform day-to-day business administration functions for Head and Director-level and above staff of Strategic Foundation Partnerships, including but not limited to:
    • Correspondence, photocopying, and phone support
    • Scheduling and agenda management
    • Ongoing database maintenance through (BBEC)
    • Preparing presentations for donor meetings and internal audiences 
    • Assisting with recruitment: scheduling interviews and helping onboard new hires
    • All aspects of business travel arrangements, expense management andSFP travel budget tracking
  •  Schedule meetings, secure room locations for unit-wide meetings, maintain agendas, and set up room for meetings
  • Cross-functional liaison with other Associates within RD and beyond
  • Awareness of internal change processes (e.g. new software or systems rollout) and participation in trainings in order to serve as an informed internal lead for SFP

SFP Team Support (20%)

  • Purchase office supplies and process accounts payable invoices through Agresso
  • Specific support as requested for special projects, such as preparation for donor meetings (food, room audio and visual equipment)
  • Agency-driven deadline reminders (e.g., performance evaluation and reporting, event list submission/management)
  • Maintenance of the shared drive
  • Coordinate the SFP section of the agency’s annual report
  • Plan agenda for bi-weekly team meetings
  • Organize, plan and execute on special SFP events throughout the year, including unit retreats, workshops and other team gatherings.
  • Partner closely with Head and department team to organize, gather inputs, liaise with external speakers, and to document outcomes from special event.
  • Update and maintain all information on SaveNet relevant to SFP activities and solicitations, information on OneNet for the relevant SFP sites (e.g. BMGF) and SFP’s page on the external website.

Special Projects and SFP Activity Support (15%)

  • Represent SFP on cross-functional working groups as appropriate and interact with multiple departments, as needed.
  • Collaborate on donor Due Diligence research, filing and reporting
  • Collaborate on SFP newsletter creation, tracking and insights
  • Collaborate on management of small, emergency-only, foundation funders
  • Support SFP research lead on various foundation research projects

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, no additional years of experience required
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target hourly pay for this position is $19.62 – $21.92
  • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target hourly pay for this position is $17.98 – $20.10
  • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target hourly pay for this position is $16.35 – $18.27

The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here). Employee may be eligible for an incentive program.
