Position: Produce Manager
Status: Full Time/Benefits
Overview:
The produce manager assists the store manager in planning, directing and controlling the operation of the produce department and supervision of employees to control production, inventory, quality, freshness, merchandising, losses, gross profit, net profit and hours of work in the produce department. They assist in supervising the ordering of product to fill the department, support sales plans, and maximize sales, in addition to insuring compliance with state and federal regulations. They are responsible for all hiring, firing, promotions, demotions and disciplinary actions for all department employees. 
Job requirements:
  1. Normally work a maximum 10 hour day.
  2. Be on 24 hour call. 
  3. Possess good interpersonal skills, be mature and a proven leader.
  4. Read, write, add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  5. Develop and enforce company policies and procedures.
  6. Be a self-starter.
  7. Travel to & from work.
  8. Give verbal & written instructions.
  9. Operate all equipment in the store.
  10. Provide verbal and written direction to employees.
  11. Assist with the supervising, recruiting and training of employees.
  12. Conduct meetings to communicate business results and direction to employees.
  13. Operate telephones and intercoms.
  14. Write work schedules and reports.
  15. Deal effectively with vendors, suppliers, competitors, employees and (where necessary) employee representatives.
  16. Discipline employees, when necessary.
  17. Assist in establishing and administering rules and regulations.
