POSITION SUMMARY
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of the
assisted living facility, ensuring that residents live in a clean and safe environment. The
supervisor will oversee the housekeeping staff, ensure that cleaning standards are met, and
manage the daily operation of the housekeeping department. This position will report to the
Maintenance Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to all components of the above position summary the following “Essential Duties and
Responsibilities” are essential to successful performance in this position
- Support with cleaning and sanitizing resident rooms, including dusting, vacuuming,
mopping, and changing bed linens as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness standards are upheld.
- Organize staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage; manage time-off requests and
substitutions.
- Monitor and reorder cleaning supplies as necessary, ensuring the facility is always
stocked with essential items.
- Ensure all housekeeping activities are compliant with safety and health regulations.
- Provide training on the use of cleaning and chemical equipment.
- Act as the primary point of contact between housekeeping staff and facility management.
- Interact with residents and address any housekeeping-related concerns or special
requests.
- Oversee the housekeeping budget, ensuring expenses are withing the allocated amounts.
- Collaborate with other departments, like maintenance and wellness, to ensure seamless
operations and address any issues or concerns.
- Supervise daily activities of the housekeeping staff, ensuring all tasks are completed
thoroughly and in a timely manner.
- Train new housekeeping staff and provide continuous training to ensure standards are
maintained.
- Address concerns, provide feedback, and relay important information.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The incumbent in this position will supervise housekeeping staff.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS
- At least 18 years of age.
- Required Health Screening, TB Clearance, and Criminal Record Clearance.
- Any special licenses, certifications, and certificates (First Aid/ CPR Certified)
- Special skills needed to meet client needs [California Code of Regulations Sections:
85065(f)/87411(g)]
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in hospitality or
related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisor
role.
- Experience in assisted living, health care, or a similar environment is a plus.

- Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physical ability to lift, bend, push, and pull up to 50lbs.
