Job Description
Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking an experienced Development Engineer to join our Advanced Engineering Division. Join a dynamic custom equipment development organization creating innovative solutions for the Savannah River Site, DOE complex and National Security missions.
Responsibilities
  • Work on multi-disciplinary teams to design, build, test, install and commission one-of-a-kind engineering solutions safely and efficiently.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Support projects in various fields including, but not limited to: automation and robotics, machinery and component design, instrumentation and controls, nuclear pressurized systems, nuclear facility design, additive manufacturing, remote inspection and handling systems, and hazardous material handling.
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed designs and engineering drawings.
  • Perform engineering analysis and simulations to validate design concepts and optimize performance.
  • Provide technical expertise and support during project implementation, troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS in Mechanical, Civil, Structural or Nuclear Engineering 8 yrs. of relevant experience, or
  • MS in Mechanical, Civil, Structural or Nuclear Engineering 6 yrs. of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience managing procurements and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering software tools.
  • Solutions-oriented person who possesses strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience leading teams of technical professionals and managing projects.
  • Ability to mentor and provide guidance to less experienced personnel.
