The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. As Georgia’s public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas: behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services.
The main office for DBHDD is in downtown Atlanta.
Georgia Regional Hospital – Savannah (GRHS) operates 180 licensed, accredited inpatient beds for two major program areas: 1) adult mental health, 2) adult forensic services and offers inpatient adult mental health services, inpatient habilitation services and forensic program services to a catchment area of approximately 45 Georgia counties.

Job Title: Physician - Board Eligible – Admissions - Hourly (Part-Time) - GRHS
Pay Grade: MBE
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, provides comprehensive medical services by examining patients, diagnosing conditions, and providing treatments. Directs nurses, aides and others in the care and treatment of patients.
Supervising staff including physician assistants and nurse practitioners
Refers patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary

NOTE:
This hourly position’s work hours are Monday thru Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (29 hours per week on average). The individual will be working with and supervising the most qualified and independent extenders. GRHS is contracted with a large teaching medical hospital which takes care of our patients is only 5 minutes away.
