TechnicianDuties :

• Inspect repairmodify and install HVAC equipment including refrigeration andairconditioning compressors receivers condensers chillers watercooling towers forced air converter units pumps automatic and handvalves expansion valves and capillarytubes.
• Repairor replace defective parts in units and equipment and theircontrols including thermostats automatic switches fan controls logswitches damper motors louvers relays filters controls beltscompressors heat exchangers high limit controls pressure controlssafety valves and automatic gas valves.
• Operatea variety of hand and power tools welder torch vacuum pump testequipment utilized in the trade and a motor vehicle;

maintainequipment in effective and safe working condition; maintain partsand tool inventory.

• Repair and rebuildsemihermetic reciprocating compressors and compressors forcentrifugal refrigeration machines.
• Performskilled electrical maintenance work in the repair installation andalteration of HVAC equipment components timers motors and wiringsystems as needed;

connect motors to controlpanels.

• Lubricate and pack heating ventilationrefrigeration and airconditioning motors pumps fans and otherequipment.
• Install and calibrate systems;install copper tubing and repair pipes and tubing as necessary;test joints and insulate pipes of refrigeration and airconditioning systems;

flush boilers descale tubing; rebuildpressure and temperature safety valves and waterpumps.

• Install rebuild replace or repair fansmotors thermostats fuses filters bearings valves controls gasketsand other equipment as necessary.
• Maintainrelated records concerning time labor and materials; maintain logof tasks performed and write reports asrequired.
