Job Description:Provide tutoring in basic English skills to English Learners. The EL tutor helps English learners, including immigrant children and youth, succeed in school by assisting them in becoming fluent in English and meeting challenging state academic content and student academic achievement standards. The EL tutor provides effective language instruction that meets the needs of ELs and increases English language proficiency and student academic achievement. The EL tutor also works with families as needed to ensure that students participate effectively in the program. Statement of Duties:Plan and prepare lessons for individuals or small groups of elementary or secondary students.Provide in class support with necessary foundational skills.Keep records of student attendance and progress to monitor effectiveness of small group instruction.Work with school based EL Teacher and District EL Coach to identify, schedule interventions and plan instruction.Compensation:$40.00 per hour (grant funded)Approved HoursUp to 19.5 hours of instruction/week
