POSITION Early Childhood TeacherSUPERVISOR PrincipalPOSITION GOALThe preschool teacher is responsible for the education of each pupil in his/her charge and for working with students, parents, other educators and staff toward achieving the goals set forth in the Districts Mission Statement. The preschool teacher, along with the special education team, is also responsible for the identification, evaluation, specialized instruction and case management of the districts preschool students.QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Minimum of Bachelors Degree Certification: NH Department of Education certification in early childhood education and early childhood special educationExperience: N/A Criminal Record Check: Required per NH RSA 189:13-aPre-Employment Medical Exam: Required per NH RSA 200:36 and 275:3EVALUATIONEvaluation will be based on ability and effectiveness in carrying out the responsibilities of the position as defined. Performance will be reviewed by Administrators in cooperation with the Superintendent and in accordance with School Board policy and the SAU 15 Professional Educator Evaluation Plan.GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of early childhood developmentAwareness of NH Administrative Rules and RegulationsKnowledge of research based instructional interventionsAbility to collaborate with school staff and administration, parents, and the communityKnowledge of testing instruments and their application to the academic settingAbility to communicate with studentsSitting at desk to perform duties associated with classroom instructionAbility to move around the classroom to supervise, interact, and communicate with studentsEscort students to other classes that occur at locations outside the assigned classroomAbility to use computer, phone and other related equipment to support job function.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptableSufficient mobility to function within a general classroom setting.Standing: Frequent Lifting: OccasionalWalking: Frequent Reaching: OccasionalSitting: Frequent Push/Pull: OccasionalDriving: Infrequent / Rare Bend/Stoop: FrequentGENERAL RESPONSIBILTIESExcept as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to the position.Ability to work with building administration to coordinate Preschool registration and screenings.Providing standards-based instruction, child centered and developmentally appropriately for active learning that results in progress in all developmental areas for each child.Strives to implement by instruction and action, the districts philosophy of education and instruction goals and objectives. Class time is organized so that it is spent on age-appropriate, play-based instruction, which engages the students in active learning.Communicates, consults and collaborates in regards to student needs, accommodations and modifications, regularly and effectively with students, co-workers, parents/guardians and the community and exhibits appropriate and professional interaction skills.Demonstrates the ability to use a variety of assessment tools and progress monitoring techniques; progress reports are completed as required as outlined in the I.E.P.Plans lessons that employ a variety of instructional techniques, and creates an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity, needs and interests of the students.Understands the needs of students with educational disabilities and tailors a plan of instruction to assist the student in learning.Functions as a member of an educational team and collaborating with general education and special education staff, support personnel, community agencies and parentsFollows confidentiality policies and procedures regarding students, parents/guardians, and fellow staff members.Possesses knowledge of State and Federal education regulations/timelines and maintains compliance for student files as required by law, district policy and administration regulations.START DATE: 2024 - 2025 School Year; August 2024SCHEDULE: 7 hours per day, 180 days per year, approx.
