SAU 39 is Hiring a STEM Teacher (Science/Mathematics) Near Amherst, NH
Position OverviewAmherst Middle School is seeking a 5th or 6th grade STEM (Science/Math) teacher to join their learning community. This position is responsible for helping to design and implement rich curriculum, dynamic student-centered instruction, and performance-based assessment in grade 5 or 6 of the middle school. A qualified applicant will be knowledgeable in the content area standards, work study practices, and demonstrate a commitment to bringing learning to life for students of all ability levels. Strong collaboration and communication skills as well as a commitment to their own growth are required in this position.

Requirements
- Successful experience and/or training in the field or level within the last five years.
- NH Teacher Certification in the following endorsements will be considered: Elementary Education (1810, 1811) or equivalent OR 5-8 Science (1305) AND Middle Level Math (1102)
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Demonstrated commitment to, “Engage, Support and Challenge All Learners.”
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues to support a positive school climate
- Experience with standards-based grading and competency education
- Proficiency in creating and implementing performance-based assessment in the classroom
- Demonstrated strategies for differentiation at all levels to support a Multi-Tiered System of Supports model
- Demonstrated instructional skills at the middle school level
- Ability to incorporate brain-based and social emotional learning strategies into instruction
- Enthusiastic, articulate, creative, people-oriented, and caring.
- Expert in working with middle school-aged students and their families.
- Excellent communication skills, well-developed collaborative skills and organizational skills.
