SAU 39 is Hiring a Special Education Coordinator (LEA) Near Amherst, NH

Please apply online at SAU39.orgAmherst Special Education Coordinator (LEA) works to support the special education department. The Coordinator works as a liaison between the SAU Student Services Office and Amherst Schools. Qualifications: The candidate should hold a special educator certification or comparable certification, such as a school psychologist, minimum of three years of experience within the field of special education, and a Master’s Degree. Duties and Responsibilities:- Support the implementation of SAU 39 Student Services vision, as well as the building leadership’s vision - Serve as LEA for special education meetings - Support and monitor compliance with IDEA and state and federal laws and guidelines - Assist in transition planning for students moving from 4th to 5th grade, 7th to 8th, and 8th to 9th grade- Support planning and coordination of Extended School Year services- General support of special educators and related service providers, as well coaching, training, and daily operations- Collaborate with special educators, paraeducators, and related service providers to implement practices as identified by leadership - Coordination with the administrative assistant of student services, with support of building leadership, to implement and refine special education processes - Development and support of service delivery schedules - Attend regular coordinator meetings with the Director of Student Services - Attend regular building leadership meetings - Support daily operations of specialized programs- Assist with the development of yearly budget and ordering - Support implementation of students' programming as needed - Disseminate information from Director of Student Services and building leadership to the department General Information:Direct report to building leadership and Director of Student Services
