Title: Behavior Service Manager
Summary of Duties:
The Behavior Management Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Behavior Services and the Behavior Department with the assessment, development, monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of person centered behavior support services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Physical Functions are the ability to:
1. Provide and facilitate two-way communication with others
2. Physical agility/ability to react to a life-threatening emergency, or to intervene in a crisis situation, including using your body as part of an intervention (SCIP or other techniques), as prescribed, to assure safety of the people receiving services. Physical agility/ability includes, but is not limited to, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, sitting, standing, and lifting as per program needs.
3. Assess abilities, coping capabilities, and adaptive skills of individuals served. Assist in development of a plan of service to enhance inclusion by improving behavior. Participate in support team meetings and act as liaison between the team and the psychiatrist, and Director of Behavior Services.
4. Under the supervision of the Director of Behavior Services, performs behavioral assessments as assigned as part of a team approach to assess functionality of challenging behaviors.
5. Assist in development of skill building goals for people who have behavior plans/ Medication Monitoring Plans.
6. Develop, plan, and conduct in-service training to staff on behavior/ medication monitoring plans and related documents.
7. Develop and conducts training for people regarding their current behavioral needs and plans.
8. Maintain data collection and measurement systems for monitoring and reporting progress
9. Assist Director of Behavior Services in development of medication monitoring plans, supporting documents and summaries.
10. Attend pertinent meetings, self-schedule and attend individual support team meetings, planning meetings for individuals receiving behavior support services, supervisory meetings, and psychiatric appointments.
11. Provide psychiatric providers with progress notes and attend psychiatric appointments, as needed.
12. Work with the Director of Behavior Services in dividing non-job specific responsibilities and meet with BIS at least monthly to review shared caseload.
13. Maintain all behavior related on-site documents and files in organized, working manner.
14. Attend clinical team meetings and provide progress reports regarding individuals receiving behavior support services
15. Adhere to Agency policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a human services field with a minimum of two (2) years direct care experience working with ID/DD individuals, including implementation of Behavior Support Plans, OR Associate’s degree with a minimum of three (3) years experience, OR High School Diploma with a minimum of five (5) years of experience.
Ability to read and write in the English language at a level that allows for understanding of assessments, service plans, and progress notes. Ability to train staff in the implementation of behavior support plans and behavior documentation methods. Ability to provide written information to individual support teams and medical providers. Ability to evaluate progress and recommend revisions to behavior support plans when necessary.
