We are looking to hire a ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER for a project in Westville, Indiana. This individual will be responsible for supporting the successful supervision and management of construction activities, in the safest manner possible, up to and including multi-million dollar electrical projects. This position may require travel or relocation from time-to-time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in tracking project costs and performance.
• Monitor project planning, execution and closure.
• Support all project functions as they relate to quality control, safety, and project team management.
• Assist in coordinating the project team – field supervision, Division resources, and Support Department staff – as direct by the PM or Senior PM.
• Support Senior Project Management on essential project duties including cost and labor tracking, material submittals, subcontractor management, contract compliance, and schedule adherence.
• Assist with all project phases from start-up to close-out.
• Support and provide assistance with various bidding and business development activities, when necessary.
• Support all Company training and employee development activities and provide appropriate input and feedback, as necessary.
• Practice “Management by Walking Around” on a regular basis and provide feedback/input/follow-up, as required.
• Ensure that all work meets the highest standards of workmanship, and that all work and materials are in compliance with project specifications and drawings.

SKILLS:

• Excellent written communication skills. Proficient with computers, particularly Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to type.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of diverse individuals.
• Works efficiently under tight time frames, responds to requests in a timely manner, and communicates effectively as a team player. 
• Understands the importance of being able to multi-task.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of two years of experience in a construction related role. Can be a combination of training, education and relevant work experience that is equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Management, or other construction related major.
• Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Eagerness to learn new technologies, processes, and other project demands
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to use date to inform project decisions
• Strong planning, prioritizing, and presentation skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bluebeam PDF software experience
• Hands-on experience in the Commercial or Industrial field.
