Systems Engineer

Systems Engineer

Systems Engineers at Sarcos Robotics are part of a multidisciplinary team creating dexterous robotic systems to enhance worker productivity. The Systems Engineer guides the team through all stages of the development process from concept development and requirements definition, through design, development, integration, verification, validation and into production, service, and product sunset. The successful candidate has experience with detailed requirements management and a strong understanding of processes pertaining to design and development, including risk management, document controls, and quality management. This position requires someone who loves to learn new domain-specific knowledge and apply new techniques for novel problems focused on controlling robotic manipulators.

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Work with product management and the technical team to define and document requirements
  • Manage design elements and assemblies with emphasis on system and subsystem functionality, performance, reliability, safety, and risk management
  • Coordinate design reviews with cross-functional teams, leading efforts related to Systems Engineering
  • Identify test methodologies and create test plans for requirements verification and validation
  • Work with the technical team to document test procedures and test results, and trace results back to requirements

 Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Software, Robotics) or other related field (or combination of professional work experience and education)
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry work experience in engineering complex systems
  • Proficiency in requirements management (collaborative development, expertise in management software like JAMA, Helix, DOORS, etc.)
  • Proficiency in product development processes across multiple engineering disciplines

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed Monday through Friday with occasional weekend requirements
  • Some travel is required
  • Safety awareness is absolutely essential at all times while in the work area
  • Must be able to stand and sit for extended times
