SARC, Inc. is Hiring a Case Manager (Substance Abuse Specialization) Near Bel Air, MD

SARC has been providing hope and resources to victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking in Harford County for over 40 years. We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Case Manager. This position provides case management and crisis intervention. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field. The position requires 1 year of experience working in the field of addiction. This is a full-time position: Sunday through Thursday 2pm to 10pm.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist clients with obtaining and coordinate services including, but not limited to: safe housing, public benefits, emergency financial assistance, health care, substance abuse services, educational services, mental health, legal advocacy and representation, and other needed services.
  • Help nurture a safe, drug-free, health-oriented environment for recovery; Encourage residents to actively support each other’s recovery; Connect residents to the resources they need to achieve their personal recovery goals.
  • Conduct needs assessment for each client and provide the following as appropriate: crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, referrals, and follow-up.
  • Assist with covering the 24 hr helpline on both scheduled shifts and on an as-need basis.
  • Assist clients in completing applications, filing claims for compensation, and applying for and advocating for benefits available.
  • Maintains all client records to ensure information is accurate and entered into ETO database.
  • Completes shelter screenings to determine if candidate meets program requirements;
  • Participate in rotating schedule which requires 24-hour on-call response/coverage for the program to guide staff in good decision making and problem solving. Directs staff in response to emergency situations.
  • Secures supplementary information such as employment, medical records, or school reports.
  • Provide basic crisis intervention with Residential clients.
  • Assist with transportation of clients and pick-up of community donations.
  • Complete monthly maintenance checks to ensure building safety.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides consultation and direction during on-call coverage of Safehouse.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or two years in related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Be willing and able to attend ongoing Trauma Informed Care trainings and webinars to stay current with up to date trends in intervention.

The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $24.25 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
