The Patient Care Technician performs tasks supportive to delivery of patient care in assigned departments under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
The dynamic staff on this unit provide complex care to our cardiac progressive patients. We are a Nurse Residency unit with a focus on mentoring novice nurses transitioning into the acute care setting. We have a dedicated charge nurse, clinical pharmacist, case manager, and social worker on our unit to support the patients needs and provide a resource for the nursing staff.

Require one of the following:
1.) Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); Paramedic, or a military corpsman; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment; or
2.) Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to: a.) currently be enrolled in an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN); b.) have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN; and c.) cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN; or
3.) Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation. **Employees hired without the above licensure and/or by years of experience only prior to 11/11/19, are grandfathered in and will have the option of obtaining the stipulated licensure.
Preferred Qualifications:Prefer working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
Mandatory Education:HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
Required License and Certs:BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
Work Days/Shift/Start Time:Monday- Sunday
Day Shift: 7:00 am- 7:30 pm
Full Time is 3 Days a week; Part Time is 2 Days a week
Night Shift: 7:00 pm- 7:30 am
Full time is 3 Days a week; Part Time is 2 Days a week
