- 16 years of age per Pennsylvania requirement.
- Previous experience in Food service preferred.
- Able to read and comprehend instructions, oral and written and carry out orders independently, can implement basic instructions, and can direct and coordinate meal service.
- Ability to accept change and be supportive of administration when change is necessary for the interest of Sarah Reed and resident care.
- Treats residents, employees, and coworkers as customers, providing quality service and assistance.
- Ability to work harmoniously with others and have a genuine liking and respect for the elderly.
- Able to be flexible with scheduling and job duties on a daily basis.
- Knows and adheres to all departmental policies, emergency and evacuation procedures, and industry regulations; i.e., HIPAA, Corporate Compliance.
- Serves residents according to assigned diets and in a timely manner.
- Prepare supplemental foods/nourishment, snack carts and delivers carts as needed.
- Functions as wait staff, cart, and dishwashing personnel by performing all duties. Sets up steam table for meals. Sets up dishwasher and utilizes proper dishwashing techniques, cleans dishwasher for next meal usage, washes dishes, and puts away according to proper routine. Puts stock away as assigned. Scrubs pots and pans according to approved method.
- Responsible for general upkeep of the Dining Room and related areas. Sweeps and mops areas as assigned. Removes all garbage to compactor daily and replaces liners, cleans as assigned, maintains storage area to be neat and clean. Daily cleans freezers and coolers.
- Monitors and records food and equipment temperatures.
- Maintains inventory supply of the kitchen units and stocks area with supplies, as assigned.
- Other related duties and responsibilities that may become necessary as directed by Supervisor.
