The Pisgah (inclusion) program at SAR Academy is looking for a full-time School Psychologist for the 2023-2024 school year to work within our Early Childhood and Lower School division.

Responsibilities:

-Play important roles delivering direct clinical services to students. 

-Work closely with other members of the Pisgah team focusing on creating individualized student goals, and leading meetings with faculty on children’s social, emotional and cognitive development. 

-Create social skills groups/1-on-1 counseling

-Participate in collaborative team meetings with faculty

-Collaborate with parents in meeting student goals

-Communicate with parents and outside psychologists, i.e., implement behavioral plans alongside a behavior therapist

-Support teachers in and outside of the classroom

-Collaborate with mental health professionals in the other divisions

-Participate in BOE meetings. 

-Serve as the liaison to clinicians in the community.

Qualifications:

-Expertise in the social, emotional, and cognitive development of elementary age children is critical.

-Successful experience teaching social emotional curricula, using diverse approaches for developing early executive functioning skills among children, and implementing social problem solving are regarded as valuable. 

-Familiarity with individualized approaches to teaching and learning and the ability to interpret neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations is important.
