JOB SUMMARY:

A Regional Infection Preventionist (RN) is responsible for identifying, investigating, monitoring and reporting healthcare-associated infections. This position will collaborate with individuals and teams to create infection prevention strategies, provide feedback and sustain infection prevention methods. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, implement, and evaluate the organizational infection prevention program
• Utilize epidemiologic principles to conduct surveillance and investigations 
• Establish an annual surveillance plan based on the population(s) served, services provided, and analysis of surveillance data
• Evaluate and modify surveillance plan as necessary 
• Communicate infection prevention and control information and data to various committees and healthcare workers within the organization
• Create educational goals, objectives and strategies using learning principles and available educational tools and technology
• Comply with regulatory and mandatory reporting requirements at the local, state and federal levels
• Stay current on infection prevention and accreditation standards
• Other Duties as Assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• RN License in Oregon
• Experience as a Regional/Clinical Nurse in Senior Care preferred 
• Regulatory knowledge
