JOB SUMMARY:
The priority of the Maintenance Assistant is to partner with the Maintenance Director to provide our residents and employees with a well-maintained healthcare facility, including equipment and surroundings. Compliance with federal, state, and local laws is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preventative maintenance and repairs electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems
• The Maintenance Assistant will help to maintain fire alarm and emergency generator systems to minimize the potential for fire and accidents
• Complete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses to supervisor
• Keep inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisor
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues
• Oiling door knobs, locks, hinges, and gates, as required
• Repairing and unclogging toilets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, and exterior drains
• Replacing carpets and wooden floors
• Installing and repairing wires, plugs, and switches
• Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in communal areas
• Painting communal areas and exterior walls
• Disposing of trash found in communal areas
• Ensuring that fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, and emergency exits remain in excellent working condition at all times
• Scheduling repairs that warrant special technical skills
• Other Duties as Assigned
