SANTEE COOPER is Hiring an Engineering Technician A Near Moncks Corner, SC

Position Description

Responsible for providing comprehensive engineering and contract support for large and small Transmission capital design and construction projects. This may include material requisitioning/ordering/tracking, coordinating with external consultants, traditional drafting, minor designs, financial analyses and tracking of consultant-related or other project deliverables. Most projects consist of complex, large scale substation, transmission line and relay/SCADA/communications projects.

Essential Job Tasks:

Coordinates with engineers to process all material requisitions, stays in contact with vendors, communicates with stakeholders and provides material status reports. Acts as the point of contact for all material-related issues.

Assists with the development and maintenance of unit and departmental standards. Ensures relevant project files are maintained and up-to-date. Coordinates with unit members on designs and use of standards. Assists with the preparation of specifications and with the addition of new approved vendors or consultants.

Understands basic design concepts and uses that knowledge to prepare various drawings or exhibits that may be needed to communicate the design to construction personnel. Assists with the preparation of construction drawing packages. Stays up to date on project schedules, deliverables and milestones. Reports on status during various project meetings.

Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset and actively pursues improvement ideas that can impact safety, quality, cost and schedule. Develops new processes and implements improvements to existing processes as may be required. Performs site visits in order to further gain an understanding of all aspects of design and construction.

Position Requirements This position may be eligible for hybrid (remote and in person arrangement).

Engineering Technician A

Bachelor's Degree in a related filed of study 4 years experience or Associate's Degree in a technical or science field 6 years experience or High School Diploma/GED 8 years experience required.

Compensation Information:
$32.00 - $40.00 (min.-max.)
Engineering Technician B

Bachelor's Degree in a related filed of study 2 years experience or Associate's Degree in a technical or science field 4 years experience or High School Diploma/GED 6 years experience required.

Compensation Information:
$25.95 - $32.40 (min.-max.)
Engineering Technician C

Bachelor's Degree in a related filed of study or Associate's Degree in a technical or science field 2 years experience or High School Diploma/GED 4 years experience required.

Compensation Information:
$21.10 - $26.35 (min.-max.)
