SANTEE COOPER is Hiring a Buyer III Near Moncks Corner, SC

Position Description

Responsible for purchasing and contracting for materials, equipment, supplies and services as prescribed in policies and procedures, ensuring such purchases and contracts are accomplished in the most cost effective and ethical manner that guarantees delivery and quality required.

Essential Job Tasks:

Evaluates proposals/bids received and purchases/negotiates agreements for assigned commodities/services.

Prepares bid/proposal and contract packages which comply with policies/procedures; contract law/UCC; and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations (insurance, licensing, drug-free workplace, EEO, etc.).

Monitors performance of contracts in connection with commercial terms and conditions and changes in scope and issues all formal correspondence between vendors/contractors and Santee Cooper.

Serves as liaison between internal customers and vendors/contractors.

Resolves disputes which affect the performance of a purchase order/contract.

Clarifies invoicing and other related correspondence to a purchase order/contract.

Identifies commodities suitable for corporate contracts/blanket agreements by gathering data from user areas, department records, and data warehouse.

Develops strategies, negotiates/receives proposals, evaluates and awards contracts to leverage the total company volume while meeting user quality and delivery requirements.

Works with internal customers and user groups as necessary to meet their needs.

Serves on committees and teams as required to meet corporate and departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.

Develops, qualifies, and maintains a listing and knowledge of viable contractors and vendors on each commodity and service assigned; maintains contact with contractors/vendors and keeps informed of their performance, financial, labor and material capabilities as may be required.

Develops individually or with others (requisitioners, vendors, etc.) an effective cost reduction/avoidance and value analysis program on assigned commodities and services.

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field 5 years experience in purchasing or material planning required.

Must be knowledgeable of the Uniform Commercial Code, business law and contract law/formation.

Must have good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation Information
$80,890 - $101,110 (min.-mid.)
Buyer II

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field 2 years experience in purchasing or material planning required.

Must be knowledgeable of the Uniform Commercial Code, business law and contract law/formation.

Must have good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation Information
$65,080 - $81,350 (min.-mid.)
Buyer I

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field required.

Compensation Information
$52,340 - $65,420 (min.-mid.)
