Sansum Clinic Careers is Hiring an Ophthalmic Assistant Near Santa Barbara, CA

The Ophthalmic Assistant assists physicians by performing preliminary eye function testing and providing information needed to aid the physician in diagnosis and treatment. Demonstrates continued proficiency in treating and caring for patients based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental perspective. Accountable for the achievement of patient outcomes through implementation of critical pathways.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • CPR certification required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or dually certified in both AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support and AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support. 

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of ophthalmic office experience

  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)

  • Experience with electronic medical records
