Sangre de Cristo Community Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sr. VP of Clinical Operations to lead our Hospice and Home Health teams. As the Sr. VP of Clinical Operations, you will provide strategic direction of hospice and home health clinical services. This position establishes, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for hospice and home health services that meet and promote the standards of quality and supports the organization’s mission.

Position: Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations

Location: Pueblo, Colorado

Start Date: January - February 2024

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operational, clinical, and financial performance and results. Coordinates and oversees all direct and indirect patient services provided by clinical organization personnel.
  • Provides direction, guidance, and support to clinical leadership. Assists Clinical leadership in managing clinical teams and planning.
  • Actively participates in identifying and implementing quality initiatives to include metrics defined in the CMS quality reporting program. Assists with the evaluation of organization performance via performance improvement program, productivity, quarterly and annual reviews. Assures the quality and safe delivery of hospice and home health services provided through the Organization.
  • Assists in the preparation and administration of the organization's budget and strategic planning activities.
  • Partners with business development to ensure access to care and support growth initiatives.
  • Assists Clinical Supervisors to develop skills and techniques in evaluating the performance of clinicians. Fosters a culture of continuous leadership improvement.
  • Responsible for the oversight of adequate and appropriate supplies and equipment for the provision of patient services.
  • Ability to design and implement program models of care to enhance patient outcomes. Evaluates existing care delivery and recommends improvements.
  • Provides ongoing support for orientation, staff development and clinical competencies.
  • Develops, recommends, and administers Organization policies and procedures.
  • Assures compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of organization personnel and maintains compliance with the CHAP Home Care standards.
  • Stays informed about changes in the field of nursing, hospice, and home health care, communicates information with appropriate organization personnel.

Requirements:
  • Registered nurse with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the State.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program by the National League for Nursing. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 10 or more years of relevant experience is required.
  • Three years of management experience in a hospice, home health or related health care organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
  • Has excellent observation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of business management, governmental regulations, and CHAP standards for Hospice and Home Health Care.
