Job Summary:
We are seeking someone who is fluent in English, and is at least conversational in mandarin, to help scribe and document procedure findings, impressions and recommendations for gastroenterology procedures. In addition to this, the ideal candidate would also learn and be able work/assist as an endoscopy technician when needed (this would not be your primary purpose however).

NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. You will be paid while training.
We are happy to offer this job to persons planning to apply for Medical, PA, Nursing, or other healthcare related schools down the line. We can provide a letter of recommendation and provide pointers/tips, review personal statements and applications to assist in the process. We would need at least a 2 year commitment (1 year to get to know and work with you, 1 year for your application to acceptance process).

Hours:
7:30 AM to 3: 30 PM Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday.
OFF Wednesday and Sunday.
Thursday: Would be office work: medical assistant work (e.g. taking vitals, preparing charts, educating patients, or scribe work is also a possibility). This day can be taken off for your job.

Duties:
Scribe (Primary role):
- Able to set up charts for the patient that is being prepared for the procedure.
- Able to document findings on an electronic medical record system as they are dictated by the physician (this can require a lot of clicking and navigating menus and typing quickly).
- Able to select representative images as recommended by the physician.
- Able to help with filling out medical documents on the electronic medical record system before and after procedures.

Endoscopy Technician (Secondary role):
- Prepare and set up the endoscopy room with necessary equipment and supplies
- Assist physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures
- Handle and maintain endoscopic instruments and equipment
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes and other instruments
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials
- Monitor patient vital signs during procedures
- Provide patient care before, during, and after procedures
- Assist with patient positioning and comfort during procedures
- Document patient information accurately in medical records
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. College education is nice, but not required.
- At least conversational in mandarin (such as being able to speak to relatives/family in mandarin), and fluent in English.
- Comfortable with using a computer, preferably a Windows PC, being tech savvy is a plus, but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to do some multitasking
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team with constant verbal interaction and closed loop communication.
