Overview:

Sanford Federal, Inc. is seeking a Trail Maintenance Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations for the maintenance of the Rocky Gap ATV Trail on the Allegheny National Forest. The Trail Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating maintenance activities, directing crew members, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate trail maintenance activities, including tread maintenance, hazard tree removal, seeding, mulching, erosion control, and vegetation cutting.
• Direct crew members and subcontractors to ensure efficient and effective execution of maintenance tasks.
• Conduct site assessments to identify maintenance needs and prioritize work activities.
• Monitor trail conditions and identify hazards or areas requiring immediate attention.
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment usage, and materials expended.
• Communicate regularly with the Project Manager to provide updates on project status and address any issues or concerns.

Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in forestry, environmental science, or related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in trail maintenance or outdoor recreation management, including supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of trail maintenance techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Ability to operate trail maintenance equipment such as chainsaws, brush cutters, and ATVs/UTVs.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,849.00 - $75,368.00 per year
