Sanford Federal is Hiring a Safety Officer Near Warren, PA

Overview:

Sanford Federal, Inc. is seeking a Safety Officer to ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols during the maintenance of the Rocky Gap ATV Trail on the Allegheny National Forest. The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing safety measures, conducting training, and promoting a culture of safety among project personnel.

Duties:

  • Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits of work areas, equipment, and practices to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide safety training for project personnel on topics such as hazard recognition, personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety training, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and address any non-compliance issues promptly.
  • Serve as a resource for project personnel on safety-related matters and provide guidance and support as needed.

Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, environmental health and safety, or a related field.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in occupational safety and health, preferably in a construction, forestry, or outdoor recreation environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate safety concepts and procedures to a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project personnel and management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.76 - $18.59 per hour
