Responsibilities:

• Locate and identify the designated backflow preventer valve.
• Safely and mechanically remove the malfunctioning backflow preventer valve in accordance with established procedures and safety protocols.
• Install a new backflow preventer valve, ensuring proper connections and adherence to manufacturer's specifications.
• Conduct a system integrity test using nominal operating system pressure and temperature, verifying for any leaks (allowable leakage: none).
• Document the entire process, including:
• Date and time of replacement
• Location and identifier of the replaced valve
• Serial number of the new valve installed
• Pressure and temperature used during the integrity test
• Observations and results of the leak test
• Submit a clear and legible report (hard copy or electronic) detailing the testing results to the supervisor.
• Perform surface preparation and coating/painting tasks on new and disturbed surfaces according to specification 009-32 .
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow all relevant safety regulations and procedures.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience in plumbing or related field.
• Knowledge of backflow prevention practices and regulations.
• Understanding of pressure testing procedures and leak detection methods.
• Ability to document work accurately and comprehensively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to established protocols.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.05 - $23.52 per hour
