Job Description
Job Title: American Sign Language Interpreter.
Based at:
Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), Joint Base Lewis- McChord (JBLM),
Tacoma, Washington
Overview:Sanford is looking for an Interpreter who has explicit Knowledge and good experience.
Qualifications:
- Completion of the Center for the Assessment of Sign Language Interpretation (CASLI) exam.
- Complete an approved American Sign Language educational program.
- Analysis of cultural competence.
- Evaluation of medical-specific knowledge.
- Assessment of medical terminology & healthcare practices.
- ASL Interpreters are Nationally ASL Certified with one of the following credentials.
- Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (RID).
- National Association of the Deaf (NAD).
- National Interpreter Certification (NIC).
Duties required by the position:
Work will be done in-person, or, when deemed appropriate by Madigan Army Medical Center, via Virtual Remote Interpreter (VRI) services.
