Sanford Federal is Hiring an Equipment Operator Near Warren, PA

Job Overview:

Sanford Federal, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment for the maintenance of the Rocky Gap ATV Trail on the Allegheny National Forest. The Equipment Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing various trail maintenance tasks, such as grading, excavation, and vegetation clearing.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, and ATVs/UTVs, to perform trail maintenance activities.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and identify any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed or coordinate with maintenance staff for repairs.
  • Follow project plans, specifications, and safety protocols to ensure work is completed accurately and safely.
  • Assist with other trail maintenance tasks as directed by the Project Manager or Trail Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work activities and address any issues or concerns.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certification in heavy equipment operation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy machinery and equipment, preferably in a construction or outdoor maintenance environment.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record, CDL (Commercial Driver's License) may be required for certain equipment.
  • Ability to interpret project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.83 - $22.53 per hour
