Job Title: Economist

Job Description:
The Economist will provide analytical and advisory support to DLA Energy's Electricity

Acquisition program. This individual will work independently or as part of a team to conduct

analyses, make recommendations, and provide consultation on market conditions, trends,

projections, and other electricity-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:
● Conduct analysis of electricity markets including current market conditions, trends

affecting future market conditions, and projections concerning economic factors related

to energy market conditions.

● Analyze regulatory policies and changes that may affect contract terms, performance, or

administration.

● Support acquisition planning through development of market surveys, competition

assessments, and strategies to increase contractor participation for renewable energy

acquisitions.

● Provide consultation, documentation of issues, and draft negotiation reports as requested.

● Analyze existing government/commercial contracts and develop negotiation strategies

and objectives considering potential alternate suppliers and regulatory or industry

changes.

● Analyze the impact of new/revised regulatory requirements, full/partial terminations, or

other potential drivers that may affect contract price and provide briefs and reports.

● Make recommendations or suggest approaches for any subsequent negotiations.

● Possess knowledge of electricity infrastructure industry and related stakeholders.

Skills and Knowledge:
●Master's degree in business, finance, economics or a related field preferred.

● Minimum of 5 years of experience in the energy sector, with experience in electricity

industry preferred.

● Knowledge of energy markets, valuation models, methods and tools.

● Experience with projections concerning economic factors related to energy market

conditions, or energy industry practices.

● Experience working with states, providers, and others addressing electricity infrastructure needs.

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills.
