STARTING SALARY: $15.20/hour
STATUS: Seasonal Position (non-benefitted; Full-time for 6 months or until fall temperatures drop)
DEPARTMENT: Public Works
SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of a Public Works Crew Leader, performs construction and maintenance activities for the streets, transportation, or engineering divisions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Six months of technical training in equipment operation, construction or related work experience preferred. Valid Utah driver’s license. Commercial Driver’s License may be required. Knowledge of tools, machines, and equipment used in the construction and maintenance of City streets and infrastructure, OSHA safety standards; general construction practice and procedures. Moderate responsibility for the care, condition and use of materials, equipment and tools. Contacts with other departments, furnishing and obtaining information. Tool, Machine, Equipment Operation: Operates construction equipment, miscellaneous hand tools, and one-ton up to and including a ten-wheel dump truck. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
