Position: Adolescent Mental Health Therapist

Location: Darien, Ilinois 

Work Environment: Teen and Young Adult Outpatient Treatment Center

Schedule: Monday to Friday | 3 Evenings Per Week 

Job Type: Full Time 

Compensation: $60,000-$74,000

License Requirements: Illinois Clinical or Provisional Licensure (LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LSW, ALMFT)

About the Role

As an adolescent mental health therapist at Sandstone Care, you will be part of a team that provides comprehensive and individualized care for teens and young adults struggling with substance use, mental health, and co-occurring disorders. You will work closely with the clinical director, program manager, and other therapists to deliver evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions in a variety of settings, including individual, group, family, and experiential therapy. You will also collaborate with other professionals, such as psychiatrists, case managers, and recovery coaches, to ensure continuity of care and optimal outcomes for your clients.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing treatment plans, and reviewing progress with clients and their families
  • Facilitating psychoeducational and process groups on topics such as coping skills, relapse prevention, emotion regulation, and life skills
  • Providing individual and family therapy sessions using modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and family systems therapy
  • Documenting all clinical services in a timely and accurate manner, following Sandstone Care’s policies and procedures, and adhering to ethical and legal standards
  • Participating in weekly clinical supervision, staff meetings, trainings, and quality improvement activities
  • Communicating effectively and respectfully with clients, families, colleagues, and community partners

Qualifications:

  • Clinical OR provisional licensure in Illinois (LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LSW, ALMFT)
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field 
  • 2 years of non-internship experience in substance abuse treatment.
  • You have strong clinical skills in motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and documentation.
  • 2 years of non-internship experience working with adolescent populations (ages 13-17) 
  • 2 years of experience with a treatment facility in a detox or residential setting is strongly preferred.
