Purpose

The Orientation / Training Coordinator drives positive employee engagement by being an integral part of new employee onboarding, training, and acclimation to the company.

This role is responsible for Facilitating New Hire Orientation, coordinating non-technical certification training, delivers monthly people safety training, and supports employee engagement and interaction throughout their onboarding process.

Responsibilities

  • Instruction and Facilitation of New Hire Orientation
  • Update and develop orientation content that remains current with industry standards
  • Supports the new employee onboarding process and ensures new hires are engaged with others, including their manager, so they understand how to be successful in their day-to-day job, including how their work contributes to the overall business.
  • Plays a key role introducing new hires to our organization, mission, vision and values. Ensures employees are integrated into their positions, connects them to their technical trainers, and ensures they have a clear understanding of their job-training program.

Helps to initiate relationship between manager and employee.

Assists employees with routine questions / matters to facilitate the HR function. Refers employees to the appropriate source as needed.

Ensures responses and follow up is timely.

  • Data entry into each user system (i.e. Ceridian Dayforce, Training Data Bases, Attendance Tracking, etc.)
  • Conducts non-technical training for designated employees to ensure understanding of GMPs, Hazard Assessment, HACCP, Chemical hazards, and other workplace certifications.
  • Communicates effectively to others, both verbally and written
  • Regularly maintain and audit all training records to ensure employees are in compliance with training and also monitors compliance during production activities.
  • Promotes and fosters team building, cooperation and collaboration amongst employees.
  • Supports improvement initiatives for department training and provides regular feedback to technical trainers and department leadership related to ways to improve the employee experience while also maximizing production / efficiency.
  • Administers and assist in communicating various human resources plans and procedures for all Company employees.
  • Enter employee information into payroll database and timekeeping database, as well as SKNet and Employee Picture Database, including any / all updates in employment status, position changes, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain employee files
  • Run reports from employee databases as requested
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills, solid communication, compassionate and a friendly demeanor
  • Exceptional listening skills and an ability to identify employee concerns that need to be escalated
  • Can maintain confidentiality while helping others
  • Familiarity with common on-boarding and training competencies including Policies / Procedures, Safety training, facilitation of basic job skills content, and more advanced Learning and Development areas.
  • Basic competence in use of Microsoft Office software applications, primarily Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to develop trust and confidence with all team members based upon honesty, integrity, sincerity and mutual respect.
  • Has skills that promote employee participation, education and information sharing regarding available initiatives and programs.
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
